First observed in 2005, Autistic Pride Day was organized by Aspies For Freedom (AFF). In honor of the youngest member of the group’s birthday on June 18, that day was selected. The LGBT pride movement served as the inspiration for the festival. The Autism Rights Group Highland (ARGH) co-founder, Kabie Brook, highlights that the day is an organization run by people with autism. This day is represented by the rainbow infinity symbol, which stands for “diversity with infinite variations and infinite possibilities.”
