Contending in India without precedent for more than three years, Olympic hero Neeraj Chopra secured the gold MEDAL in the men’s javelin throw at the Federation Cup2024 athletics meet. Held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Chopra protected his triumph with a toss of 82.27 meters.
Neeraj Chopra, 26, made a victorious re-visitation of the Indian sports scene, denoting his most memorable homegrown rivalry since the Federation Cup in March 2021. His triumphant toss of 82.27 meters came in his fourth endeavor, after which he selected to skirt the last two tosses because of late contest weariness.

“I competed at Doha a few days back and haven’t recovered properly yet. So, I decided to skip the last two throws. I will be competing again in Czechia in another 10-12 days, so I took it easy,” Chopra said. “It was nice to compete in India after so long. Thanks to all the fans who came out to support us today.”
