

The Taiwan Athletics Open 2024 witnessed outstanding performances by Indian athletes, marking a successful campaign with several medal achievements.
Bronze medalist Nayana James won gold in the women’s long jump competition at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2024, which was held in Chinese Taipei. Nayana made it to the top of the podium after recording an amazing distance of 6.43 meters at the Taipei Municipal Stadium, despite the inclement weather. With a best attempt of 6.37 meters, she beat off the current Asian champion, Sumire Hata of Japan, with her outstanding performance. With a 6.14-meter leap, Yu Jeongmi of the Republic of Korea took home the bronze.

At the Taiwan Athletics Open 2024, the Indian team succeeded, winning seven medals in all (three gold, three silver, and one bronze). Nayana James is now considered one of India’s greatest long jumpers because to her gold medal in the long jump and her strong season-long results, which included a triumph at the Federation Cup last month and a personal best of 6.67 meters at the Indian Open Jumps Competition in March.
