DP Manu Wins Gold in Javelin Throw at Taiwan Open 2024

On June 1st, at the Taiwan Open 2024 in Taipei, India’s DP Manu won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw competition. It was an incredible achievement. On his final try, Manu threw an amazing 81.58 meters for the winning throw.

Performance Highlights

DP Manu, who won the silver medal at the Asian Athletics Championship, had a number of throws that significantly improved during the tournament. He threw for 78.32 meters in his first throw and 76.80 meters in his second. After that, Manu threw 80.59 meters on his third try and 81.52 meters on his fifth, with his fourth effort considered invalid.   • Nithya Ramraj: Finished second in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 13.23 seconds, achieving a personal best of 13.12 seconds in the heat race.
  • VK Vismaya: Secured third place in the women’s 400m final, clocking 53.49 seconds.
  • Rosy Meena: Finished sixth in the women’s pole vault event with a vault of 3.75 meters.
